Retail Merchandising Associate

Cargo’s fleet will grow 10X in 2018. To support our growing fleet and provide a frictionless in-car experience to passengers, Cargo developed a proprietary hardware, inventory management and software system all-in-one to eventually support hundreds of thousands of drivers in our network.

As a Merchandising Associate, you will support a variety of projects in consumer research, analytics, brand partnerships, and merchandising strategy with the goal of driving in-car retail engagement for millions of rideshare passengers. This role will report into Cargo’s Retail Merchandising Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Brand Partnerships: Bring to life Cargo’s retail vision by helping source retail products across key categories including Food, Beauty, and Electronics. Coordinate all activities to secure new inbounds and contracts with external manufacturer and distributor partners including new product set up in Cargo’s internal system, PO placements, and coordinate warehouse deliveries.

  • Drive Consumer Engagement: Analyze performance of product mix, shelf placement, digital menu placement, pricing, and brand/product selection and generate insights to improve Cargo’s merchandising strategy. Collaborate with Merchandising Operations to roll out new products. Help support continuous improvement of Cargo’s digital rider app.  

  • Consumer Research & Analytics: Analyze internal and external data sources to determine industry and consumer trends and recommend new products that are relevant and timely to drive in car engagement. Conduct secondary research to identify emerging trends. Support primary consumer research projects including focus groups, surveys, ride-a-longs, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years experience in Retail/CPG/Beauty

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Strong analytical skillset, experience with data analytics (IRI/Nielsen experience a plus)

  • A creative and analytical problem-solver with strong communication skills
